[...] Aloha! Time once again for our nearly-monthly comparison between the reviews section of Mojo Magazine and the vast catalog of Yahoo! Music Unlimited. In case you haven’t seen this feature before, Mojo is my favorite music magazine, hailing from the UK, and Yahoo! Music Unlimited is Yahoo!’s super-rad $5/month all-you-can-eat subscription service. Every month since Yahoo! Music Unlimited launched nearly one year ago I’ve searched for every album reviewed in Mojo in the subscription service and posted the results as well as a playlist. The purpose of this somewhat tedious yet musically rewarding exercise is to track our catalog coverage against “important” new releases as well as make a playlist of new music to share with the world. For past comparisons and playlists, start with last month and work your way backward. [...]

Noting that the Bright Eyes and and John Hartford albums, as well as half the Mary J. Blige albums are *not* currently available for streaming in YMU. They show up without play buttons in the playlist.

Also very frusrating that the 3 exra tracks on Mr A-Z are also not cleared for stream or purchase. Why release a new version digitally but not clear the extra tracks? Hmm... I wonder if there is a metadata issue there.

I wondered the same thing. I noticed we got a re-issue with a couple of extra tracks in YMU recently -- maybe that was just the international release? *shrug*

The Mr. A-Z album was relased in the states like a year ago. Any idea what gives there? Just curious.

Great call with the Boris/Merzbow.... amazing! I'd love to hear this on vinyl.

FWIW, I just saw the Richard Ashcroft album comes out in the states this week. We should have it Tuesday.
