Prolific Latin rockera Shakira just added a new track called “Hips Don’t Lie” featuring Wyclef Jean to her album “Oral Fixation 2.”

Just like Shakira, we couldn’t wait to embrace this song. So we had our users come and upload video of their very own hips dancing to this new track last week. Your hips don’t lie, you love the song too!

The cool thing about this for me was being able to give you, the music lovers who visit Yahoo! Music every day, the chance to make what turned out to be (in my humble opinion) a more exciting video than Shakira made herself. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I do because it’s truly ‘of the people, by the people.’ Yeah, I went there. Lol!

In the true World Wide Domination spirit the video is being shown on our Y! Musica site, Canada and Australia. It was more of a challenge than most video premieres to put together and the result was worth it. Thank you to all who submitted their tapes and played rockstar just for us.

  1. I just wanted to let you know that I agree on the new Shakira (Fan’s Version Video) for Hips Don’t Lie. It is better than the “real” video. Great work and I absolutely love it. To be honest, I hadn’t really listened to Shakira’s music before seeing this video.

  3. Well Shakira has always been known in South American as a ‘Rockera’– a female rocker. She goes back and forth with Sexy Shakira and serious rocker chick.

  4. We were very disappointed about the overall experience of her concert at the United Center last weekend.
    From the opening act with a DJ then a rapper form the ghetto that had his sister sing soul or blues songs, and if it wasn’t bad enough it took approximately one hour and forty five minutes for her MTV unplugged like concert to start.

    I find hard to believe that there wasn’t any up on coming Latin American artist to open up for her, It was obvious to us that there was a lack of creativity or lack of touch from her. I hope that she and her coordinators take the time to read this and make some changes.
